La Juani - 2D & 3D exploration artwork

La Juani was born from a commission for the cover of a single for a musical project by the artist Carmen Xía. The character was inspired by the lyrics of one of her songs, and I became so captivated by the design that I decided to keep refining the sculpt with so as to create 3D sculpture entirely of my own design, where I could experiment with different kinds of texturing techniques.
In the first part of the project, you can see a short timelapse showing the process of creating the 2D illustration based on a 3D model. In the second part, I’ve included screenshots showcasing the texturing process and additional detailing work.
